Laurens County Sheriff Ricky Chastain was on hand Friday morning to accept a very special donation from the residents and staff of the Memorial Home. Earlier this year, the residents decided to make personal sacrifices with the goal of donating to a worthy community project. They decided to give up sodas and snacks for a designated period of time and donate the money they would have spent on the items. Soon, the staff members were in on the plan and the donation fund began to grow. Sheriff Chastain was happy to accept their donation to the Laurens County Sheriff’s Office “Christmas for Kids” campaign. Sheriff Chastain noted that because of their sacrifice, families across the county will have a happier Christmas this year.
