A stolen, forged check presented in Clinton two days before Christmas is alleged in the weekend arrest of a Midlands man. Saturday, Clinton Public Safety arrested 53-year-old Roger Jermain Sutton of 171 Jasper Sutton Road, Gaston, South Carolina. He was charged with Forgery and Possession of Stolen Goods. Clinton Public Safety officer D. Richardson states that on December 23rd Roger Sutton was in possession of a stolen check and that he presented the check at the Palmetto Bank in Clinton for $250 that was reported stolen from a victim to the Fairfield County Sheriff’s Office. Surety bonds on the two charges were set totaling $5,000. Roger Sutton was placed in the Johnson Detention Center Saturday, where he was being held for authorities in Grand Haven, Michigan.
