 LDHS: I need to do a little catching up on some JV and 9th action up at Easley on Tuesday night

  • 9th grade boys: Easley 35 – LDHS 16… The 9th grade boys lost their 1st game of the season 16-35 to Easley
  • JV Boys: LDHS 46 – Easley 32
  • JV Girls: LDHS 28 – Easley 23

 Middle School Basketball Results

Hickory Tavern at Gray Court-Owings

  • Girls: GCO 46 – HT 4… In girls’ action, the Lady Tigers of GCO took a 45-4 win over the Lady Panthers of HT… Kiara Austin had 16 points and Anna Carcamus 13 to lead GCO… Also scoring were Maria Jabbie 8 and Makayla Childs with 7…. Josie Case had all 4 of the HT points.
  • Boys: GCO 32 – HT 11… The GCO boys completed a sweep of their cross district rival HT with a 32-11 win… Josh Greene had 6 points to lead the victors… GCO had 7 players scoring 4 points each… They were Tay Anderson, Rakeam Franklin, Cameron Hill, Josh Campbell, Kydale Milton, Cameron woody and Ryan Dacre…. Brandon Charles led HT with 6 points.

Bell Street White vs. Bell Street Red

  • Girls: BSW 18 – BSR 13… In the first game of the in-school rivalry, BSW took an 18-13 win over BSR… BSW led 15-3 going into the last period of what was a defensive game but BSR scored 10 to BSW’s 3 in that final period in a “no quit” effort… Alyssa Abercrombie had 6 points and Sydney Fisher 5 to lead BSW… Mahogany Simpson led BSR with 5 points but Destiny Fuller had a great game on defense.
  • Boys: BSR 30 – BSW 29… The boys game turned out to be even more exciting than the girls, the BSR boys took a 30-29 win over BSW handing the white team their first loss of the season…  The game went back and forth and BSR did not take the lead for good until the final minute of play…. Jalheed Cook and Zay Hurley led the red team with 9 points each…. Ty Priestly kicked in 7 for the victors..

  • MLB Hall Of Fame 2014 Class Announced:  yesterday it was announced that former Brave starting pitchers Greg Maddox and Tom Glavine were elected to the MLB Hall of fame in their first year of eligibility… Frank Thomas who spent 16 of his 19 years in the pros with the White Sox was also selected… Maddox received 97.2 % of the votes, Glavine 91.9 and Thomas 83.7… Also to be inducted in July are three of the greatest managers of all time — Bobby Cox, Joe Torre and Tony La Russa — all selected by the Expansion Era Committee last month… Click on the following link for the entire story from MLB:   MLB Hall of fame 2014 Story
