The Sheriff’s Office yesterday recovered a vehicle stolen from Simpsonville. Laurens County Deputy Jamie Lee Edwards was dispatched to Hunts Bridge Road in Upper Laurens County at 10 Wednesday morning regarding a truck left on a woman’s property. The property owner reported seeing two male subjects taping the windows on the black truck. The two then ran up Hunts Bridge Road. The resident gave a lead on one of the two men’s identity. Deputy Edwards observed the truck, spray painted black, and with the driver’s side window completed covered in red duct tape. The officer then went to that person’s house and talked with his father, who indicated the young man had left around 2 am and he hadn’t seen him since then. The young man reportedly really wanted to get his truck back, having lost it since it was towed last year after his arrest; but the towing company in Simpsonville had a bill of $600 for towing and storage. Lt. McIntosh checked with North Hills Automotive in Simpsonville and determined a lock had been cut and the truck was stolen from their lot. The case remained under investigation.
