A Mountville man was charged yesterday with Violation of terms of his probationary release on multiple 2nd Degree Burglary convictions and with Grand Larceny for an alleged theft in the fall of 2012. Probation yesterday placed 53-year-old Thomas Richard Armstrong of 188 Wes Crawford Place, Mountville in the Johnson Detention Center, where he was served with warrants charging Violation of Probation and Grand Larceny. Armstrong was served with a warrant from Probation and Parole alleging multiple failures to follow the terms of his probationary release from an October, 2006 sentence on multiple 2nd Degree Burglary charges. He is accused of making a change of address without notifying his agent, thereby absconding supervision. He was also charged with Failure to Report to his agent, to follow advice of his agent and of being in arrears of payments required on five matters. He was also served with a Sheriff’s Warrant in which Deputy T.A. Alexander states that on November 19, 2012 Thomas Richard Armstrong took items valued at between $2,000 and $5,000 belonging to Resource Electric on 2854 Highway 76, Clinton. Thomas Richard Armstrong was being held in the Johnson Detention Center overnight, pending arraignment on the charges.
