Clinton Public Safety was notified at 11:19 yesterday morning about a hit and run on Jefferson Street. A woman said she was looking out her window yesterday morning when she saw someone backing up and got close to her vehicle. Later, she was contacted by a property manager to advise her that her vehicle had been hit. Someone had witnessed the collision and had attempted to tell her directly, but could not get her to the door. So the witness notified the property manager, who was able to advise the owner. From witness accounts, Public Safety Officer Naomi Bassett had a possible suspect identified. She was unable to locate the subject during several attempts during the day.
