Passing a forged document in mid-March was alleged with an arrest yesterday. The Laurens County Sheriff’s Office arrested 28-year-old Billy Eugene Gleaton Jr. of 4921 Riverfork Road, Waterloo and charged him with Forgery and Grand Larceny. Deputy Steve Paterson states that on March 18th Billy Gleaton Jr. published as true a forged counterfeit written instrument he knew to be forged or counterfeited. Also on that date, Gleaton allegedly received in trust personal property valued at less than $1,000 and appropriated the property to his own use with intent to deprive the owner.
Billy Gleaton was released from the Johnson Detention Center on personal recognizance bonds totaling $2,000.
