Local Sports Results 


  • Tennis: Clinton 4 – Union County 2…  Yesterday the Red Devil tennis team traveled to Union to take on the Yellow Jackets and the Red Devils prevailed by a score of 4-2… Taking wins in singles matches were Austin MacMillan, Isaac MacMillan and Robert Powell… Mac Martin and Shakily Smiley teamed up to take a win as the #2 doubles team….   • Tennis: Clinton 7 – Woodruff 0…. Now catching up with some tennis action from Wednesday, Clinton hosted Woodruff and the Wolverines went back home with most of their pelt missing as Clinton took a 7-0 win…  Austin & Isaac MacMillan, Robert Powell, Bubba Wyman & Bowen Tiller all took wins in singles action… The MacMillans teamed up to take a win in doubles action as did the team of Mac Martin and Shakily Smiley… You can see more match details by clicking on the following link: CHS-Tennis-4-15-14-Woodruff
  • Golf: Clinton 174 – Abbeville 194… The Clinton golf team picked up its 8th win of the season yesterday when they traveled to Hunters Creek CC and defeated Abbeville by a score of 174-194… Hunter Nichols was once again the match medalist shooting an even par 36… Harrison Fisher continued his steady play shooting a 3 over par 39. Jay Addison shot a 49 and Caleb Moore shot a 50 to round out the scoring for the Red Devils who improve to 8-2 on the season….  Clinton will travel to Chapman for a tri-match with Chapman and Broome at Village Greens Golf Course on Monday.
  • BB: Clinton 8 – Abbeville 3 In baseball action last night, the Red Devils took an 8-3 win over the Abbeville Panthers’ at The Sponge…  Clinton led 2-0  when Abbeville scored 2 runs in the 4th inning to tie the game… Clinton responded with 4 in their half of the inning to pretty much put the game away… Kendal Pitts and Trey Childress both went 1-2 with 3 RBIs to lead the Red Devils… Blake Riddle picked up the win and Charles McKinney a save… Coach Lee Atkinson commented after the game that the seniors played well in leading the team and he was proud of them….   • BB: Laurens 2 – Blue Ridge 1 in 9 innings… The Raiders traveled to Eastside High last night to take on the Blue Ridge Tigers in their last game in the Carolina Classic… It took the Raiders 9 innings to do it, but they defeated the Tigers 2-1… The Raiders led 1-0 going into the bottom of the 7th when Blue Ridge scored a run to send the game into extra innings… After a scoreless 8th inning, Cody Smiley was able to drive in his second run of the night to give the Raiders a 2-1 lead… Smiley and the Raiders then held Blue Ridge scoreless in the bottom of the 9th to take the win… Smiley led the Raiders going 3-5 on the night driving in both of the Raider runs… He also picked up the complete game win making him 5-0 on the season… PJ Timms went 2-4 with a double to help the cause… The Raiders will travel to Westside Monday night to resume the last 2 weeks of the regular season.
  • Boys Soccer: Greenwood 3 – Laurens 0 Back on Tuesday the soccer teams hosted Greenwood and in boys’ action, Greenwood took a 3-0 win… Click on the following for comments from Coach Balanta:  14-4-15_Greenwood_boys
