A man arrested Tuesday was served yesterday with charges from the Sheriff’s Office from earlier this month and from Clinton Public Safety from a break-in last fall.
46-year-old Michael Gerald “Mike” Simpson of 293 Ghastly Drive, Clinton was charged by the county with Criminal Domestic Violence. In a warrant, Sheriff’s Officer C.F. Johnson states that on April 3rd Michael Gerald Simpson caused physical harm or injury to the victim by grabbing her by the shirt and throwing her to the ground, causing her to receive minor injuries to her leg and arm. A $5,000 surety bond was set on the Domestic Violence charge.
Clinton Public Safety yesterday charged Mike Simpson with Grand Larceny. Public Safety Sgt. Shane Prather states Simpson broke into a victim’s residence on South Jones Street between November 11th and December 2nd, taking tools valued between $2,000 and $10,000. A $5,000 surety bond was set on the Grand Larceny charge. Meanwhile, another warrant charging Burglary 2nd Degree remained to be served, according to jail records this morning. It is also in connection with the break-in and theft on Jones Street last fall.
