In economic development news this week, Laurens County Council unanimously approved a resolution which authorizing an incentive and inducement agreement between Shaw Industries Group, Incorporated and Laurens County. Shaw Industries operates a facility on Torrington Road near Clinton. The company wants to invest approximately $16 million over a five-year period for the purpose of expanding the Laurens County manufacturing facility. Council also approved an Ordinance authorizing the execution and delivery of a fee agreement between Laurens County and Shaw, providing a payment of a fee in lieu of taxes.
Laurens County Council unanimously approved a resolution authorizing the transfer of an equity interest in the Ceramtec Company and the continuation of the Fee-In-Lieu-Of-tax agreement with the company.
