Juvenile Arrest for Female on Female Assault at CHS

A 14-year-old female was arrested on assault charges following an incident at Clinton High School yesterday morning. School Resource Officer Josh Byers was alerted to the assault at 8 am. A report indicates the youth had sent a facebook message to a 15-year-old female that she was going to fight her at school. Witness reports and a video record of the scene indicated the 15-year-old girl was standing in the hallway when the 14-year-old quickly traveled some 20 feet separating the two and punched the older girl in the face, knocked her to the ground and jumped on top of her, pulling her hair. Teacher staff was able to separate the subject from the victim. Officer Byers placed the 14-year-old under arrest and transported her to Public Safety, charging her with Assault and Battery 3rd Degree under juvenile statues. The 14-year-old was later released to her mother.
