  • Golf: Region Tournament… The Laurens Raider golf team was in action Monday in the Region I-AAAA Tournament in Easley… The Raiders placed 6th in the Tournament with a 2 round team score of 704.We had a team score of 352 for both the first and second round… Coach Jim Iacuone stated afterward “We didn’t play as well as expected… Two weeks ago in the Easley invitational we shot a second round score of 335. So I was a little disappointed overall with how we played. The top four teams and the low individual on a non-qualifying team advance to the Upper State tournament which is next Monday at Willow Creek GC in Greer.. Jonathan Finley had a really good day for us… He had personal bests for his first 9 holes (1-under – 35), 18 holes score (78) and 36 hole score (159). He lost on the third hole of a playoff with Teague Holaus of Greenwood to be the Individual Qualifier from Region I… Eric Dominic had a good second round, dropping 12 strokes from his first round…  We lose only Ryan Wright to graduation this year… Ryan shot 83 in the first round and 84 in the second… Ryan has been a good leader for our team this year and he will be tough to replace… He didn’t have his best day today but we wish him well as he continues to play at the collegiate level.”
