Call to Fight for Our Youth

“This is war.” The battle for the hearts of today’s youth was highlighted yesterday when Lakelands Area Representative for the Fellowship of Christian Athletics spoke to the Laurens Rotary Club about FCA efforts in her area, which includes Laurens, Greenwood, Abbeville and McCormick Counties, and the southern portion of Anderson County. Linda Tyner said that youth today have far more things luring them away from a wholesome life that today’s adults faced. The said FCA seeks to reach these youth, many of whom have never had a Bible until they received one from the FCA. Noting restrictions against certain activities, she said FCA chapters in schools must be led by student members and must meet before our after school. Tyner noted that all schools eligible for an FCA chapter here in Laurens County have one. That includes all middle schools, high schools and Presbyterian College.

Linda Tyner said that donations to the FCA are needed for it to sponsor youth to attend Leadership Camp this summer so they’re ready to lead their local FCA camp this coming school year.
