A Clinton man has been charged with Strong Armed Robbery from a theft at a Laurens convenience store in late April. 23-year-old Maurice Kenneth Wilson of #16 at Clinton Manor was also charged with three car break-ins in Laurens in late April.
Laurens City Detective Leann Riggott states that on April 22nd Maurice Kenneth Wilson took approximately $1,000 in US currency from behind the counter at the Green Street Mini-Mart. She states that when confronted by an employee of the store, he pulled away and ran.
Wilson is also charged with three counts of Breaking into a Motor Vehicle back in April. On the 15th he allegedly broke into a truck at All Dry of the Carolinas, 430 Church Street, and took items valued at $45.00. He’s also charged with entering two vehicles at 436 Church Street on April 17th and of taking items valued at $500 from one of them and items valued at $40 from the other vehicle at that location.
Following his arrest Friday, a $100,000 bond was set on the Strong Armed Robbery charge, while $5,000 bonds were set on the three auto break-in warrants.
Maurice Kenneth Wilson of Clinton remained in the Laurens County Detention Center this morning with bonds totaling $115,000.
