Sports Report for Wednesday, 6-11-2014

NBA: Spurs 111 – Heat 92… Last night in game 3 of the NBA Finals in Miami it was not the Heat who came out hot in the 1st half, It was the San Antonio Spurs who shot 75.8% in the first half as they took a 71-50 lead at the end of the half and then went on to an 111-92 win… That puts the Spurs up 2 games to 1 over the Heat in the best of 7 series… Game 4 will be Thursday night in Miami with tip-off scheduled for 9:00 pm.

 

Braves: Braves 13 – Rockies 10… The Braves made it 2 games in a row over the Colorado Rockies last night as the 2 teams put up a total of 23 runs in the Braves 13-10 win out in Colorado… The Braves started the game by putting 7 runs on the board in the 1st inning with shortstop Andrelton Simmons getting a grand slam homer in the inning… Colorado came back and scored 3 in the bottom of the 1st and from there on the one or both teams scored runs in each inning except the 2nd and 9th inning… The 2 teams had a total of 29 hits with the Braves getting 16 of them… Freddie Freeman and Evan Gattis also had solo homers for the Braves…

 

Greenville Drive: Riverdogs 8 – Drive 5… Last night at Flour Field the Greenville Drive looked like they were going to be able to take a win as they led the Charleston RiverDogs 4-2 going into the top of the 8th inning… However, in the top of the 8th the RiverDogs exploded for 6 runs as they went o to an 8-5 win over the Drive.

Football Officials Wanted… Have you ever sat in the stands at a football game and said to yourself I can do as good a job as those “blind zebras” out there… Well now is your chance to prove that… The District 13 Football Officials Association is looking for a few good men or women to who want to be football officials… If you are interested, call Brian Shealy at the Clinton YMCA… The phone number there is 833-1555… Also you can come to their meetings which are held each Monday night in the meeting room at the Clinton YMCA to get more information… The meetings start at 6:00 pm… The last date to join them is Sunday, July 13th.

Baseball Camp

Soccer Camp

  • June 24-26, Ages 7-16, 6:00 – 8:00 pm @ Laurens YMCA soccer fields.
