Laurens Police were dispatched to Sumter Street at 1:16 Saturday afternoon on a report of gunfire. One of the people who indicated they heard shots described a man in “saggy” pants firing the weapon at the ground. Officer Michael Polson located several empty bullet casings and several holes in a front yard in the 100 block of Sumter Street. A 17-year-old Laurens male was identified as a suspect. A woman said she did not want to press charges for a bullet that struck her house, but wanted the suspect to stay away from her son.
