Charges from Alleged Houston Street Assault by Auto

Charges were served yesterday on a Laurens man who had been arrested Tuesday night after his girlfriend had reportedly ridden on the hood of his car from Laurens Terrace to Houston Street. The 21-year-old woman was transported to Greenville for treatment after she got off the hood and reportedly opened the driver’s door when the boyfriend allegedly drove forward and struck another car, with the impact throwing the woman over his car and onto the other vehicle, with her eventually falling to the street.

22-year-old Traveon Devonte Foggie, also known as “Trap,” of 2263 Boyd Road, Laurens was charged yesterday with Assault and Battery, Malicious Damage and with 2nd Offense Driving under Suspension. Lt. Bryant Cheek states that on July 22nd Mr. Foggie intentionally committed a battery upon the victim by assaulting her with a vehicle on Houston Street, Laurens and that he willfully and maliciously did $3,000 in damage to another person’s personal property by running a vehicle into the back of the victim’s vehicle on Houston Street. Foggie was also charged with driving while his privilege to drive was under suspension and that he has at least one prior charge in the past five years. Bonds on the three charges yesterday were set totaling $31,250. Traveon Devonte Foggie remained in the Johnson Detention Center earlier this morning.
