A Michigan woman initially arrested on a Simple Marijuana Possession charge in Clinton Sunday morning is now being held for drug charges from Chicago, Illinois. 31-year-old Latasha Renee Hayes of 3050 South Burdick Street, Kalamazoo, Michigan was arrested in Clinton by Sgt. Kent Prather of Clinton Public Safety at 8:20 am Sunday on a Simple Possession of Marijuana ticket. A $652 personal recognizance bond was set on that charge, but she was also charged with being a Fugitive from Justice. Sgt. Prather states that on July 27th Latasha Hayes was a fugitive from justice from Illinois and that she stands charged with a drug violation from that jurisdiction with a punishable sentence greater than one year and that this was confirmed through the NCIC and the Cook County Sheriff’s Office. Latasha Hayes was taken into custody on Springdale Drive Sunday and placed in custody in Clinton. Bond was denied on the Fugitive from Justice charge. Latasha Hayes was transferred to the Johnson Detention Center yesterday, where she is being held for the state of Illinois.
