Clinton Public Safety was dispatched to Woodrow Street at 2:08 yesterday afternoon when a resident called to report that a man was refusing to leave her house. The man told officers that the woman had invited him over and had not asked him to leave. Officers reported observing a few minor lacerations about the man’s face. When asked about the cuts, the man reportedly replied that the woman had slapped him. Officer Metz noted that the two had been spouses and had cohabited and determined the woman was the primary aggressor. He further noted she had three prior convictions for domestic violence in the past ten years. 34-year-old Alicia Ann Silvers of Unit 2 at 211 North Woodrow Street, Clinton was charged with Criminal Domestic Violence 3rd offense. During an appearance before a judge late yesterday afternoon a cash or surety bond was set at $10,000 on the Domestic Violence charge. She also received a new charge – Contempt of Court. After a visit to the hospital, she was transported to the Johnson Detention Center. Meanwhile, the man was transported back to his home, in the woods near the railroad tracks off East Main Street. He was charged with Public Intoxication.
