Gas Thrown with Alleged Threats to Burn House

Charges of 1st Degree Assault have been served following an incident in Clinton Monday afternoon. Public Safety has charged 44-year-old William David “Willie” Jackson with 1st Degree Assault and Battery and with Malicious Injury, Resisting Arrest and Public Disorderly Conduct. He was booked with an address at 447 South Livingston Street. Public Safety Officer Wilkes states that on August 4th Willie David Jackson threw gasoline at the victim while saying he was going to light her house on fire. The warrant states that in doing so this put the victim in reasonable fear of death or great bodily harm. This allegedly occurred Monday afternoon at 447 South Livingston Street. The malicious damage warrant states that he did malicious damage to property at that address by breaking a window and door of the residence. In addition to the two warrants, tickets were issued at charging Willie Jackson with Disorderly Conduct and Resisting arrest at 2:50 Monday afternoon at 447 South Livingston Street. During arraignment yesterday, a $25,000 cash or surety bond was set on the 1st Degree Assault charge. Bonds on the other three charges totaled $1,250.50. William David “Willie” Jackson was transferred to the Johnson Detention Center yesterday, where he remained this morning.
