Break-In in Downtown Hickory Tavern

Monday a little after 9am, Deputy McMahan was called to a Highway 76 Hickory Tavern business concerning a break in of a building. The victim stated that sometime between Saturday evening and Monday morning, someone had broken into his office building and into a back building. Entry to the office was made by knocking out a window and opening the door. The only thing missing was a green money bag with keys to cars in it and a battery booster pack. The booster pack was sitting next to a car behind the building. Entry was made into the garage building by prying off the lock. Inside the garage nothing was missing. The back window had been opened and the subject had cut themselves and left blood on the window. The green money bag with car keys was lying on the window sill outside. One car outside had attempted to be stolen. The ignition had been ripped out. Other deputies arrived on scene, fingerprints were obtained as well as a blood sample. The money bag and items were entered into evidence. The victim did indicate he wanted to press charges. Investigations will continue with the case.
