Monday at 8am, Clinton Department of Public Safety officers responded to a Bailey Street Clinton home in reference to a child being left at home alone. Upon arriving, Officer Watkins found a male juvenile standing on the front porch petting a kitten. Officer Watkins asked the juvenile his name and if he had just gotten a new kitten. He gave his name and stated yes. The officer then asked if any adults were around and the juvenile stated that no one else was at home. The officer asked the juvenile when someone would be home and he shrugged his shoulders. The officer asked the juvenile if his mother worked and where she worked. The juvenile stated where she worked. The juvenile said his mother had been gone a while. The child was placed in emergency protective custody and transported to the Clinton department of public safety.
