Cross Hill Break In

Sgt. Carter of the  Laurens County Sheriff’s Office responded to a Highway 72 Cross Hill residence tuesday just before 6pm concerning a burglary. The victim stated the incident occurred between 5:15am and 5:52 am. The back window near the back door had been raised up. There was a green trash can nearby with an indention in the top. It appeared the subject gained entry through the window using the trash can. The victim stated all the doors were locked when she left the residence and now they were all unlocked and the front doors were ajar. Approximately six mini bottles of miscellaneous liquor were taken from a shelf in the living room, Pieces of jewelry were taken off the microwave in the living room, a bedazzled pants belt was taken from a bedroom closet. A Kodak easy share camera was taken as well. Sgt. Carter observed a set of fresh vehicle tracks in the back yard and photographed the scene. A print was lifted from a drink bottle as well. The case will be forwarded to investigations.
