Sgt. Carter responded to a Cross Hill residence tuesday around 1:30pm in reference to a stolen vehicle. Upon arrival, he spoke with the victim who stated her truck, a Dodge Dakota, was stolen from behind her residence. She said she saw the vehicle leave the residence at approximately 10am. Her son had been arrested around 5am and she thought he had been released from jail and was driving the truck when she saw it leave. She said he used the truck but has a bad habit of leaving the keys inside. The victim said she called a friend of her son’s that possibly knew who had the truck. Sgt. Carter than went to this friends residence in Cross Hill. The friend stated she didn’t know the son was in jail. She said she had sent him a text and an unknown female called her back. She said she didn’t know who the female was but that another female’s name was mentioned. A bolo has been issued for the truck and it has been entered into ncic as stolen.
