Laurens City Police transported three suspects to the Laurens County Detention Center this morning, completing the round-up of young men wanted from a shoplifting incident in Wal-Mart Sunday night that involved the attempted removal of three cases of beer. Laurens City Police arrested a 21-year-old Sunday night after he was caught in the store, allegedly with a case of beer and a supply of ping-pong balls. Two other young men reportedly escaped, and were driven away by the 4th suspect. Those delivered to the county lockup overnight included two 18-year-olds and a 23-year-old man. Warrants charging the three new arrests with Shoplifting state that an investigation by Officer James Woody indicates the young men carried away a case of beer from Wal-Mart on August 10th. With an attempt at taking three cases of beer and the ping-pong balls, one may suspect that the four only needed a package of red solo cups to have a game of Beer Pong.
