Arrest Cites Waterloo Break-ins

The Sheriff’s Office Friday arrested a Spartanburg County woman on charges including multiple break-ins and thefts in the Waterloo area. 48-year-old Dena Lee Hayslip of 1104 Center Point Drive, Moore was charged with 2nd and 3rd Degree Burglary, Three Counts of Grand Larceny, Breaking into a Motor Vehicle, Hindering an Arrest. She is accused of entering a dwelling on Miller Road, Waterloo twice between June 20th and July 30th, 2014 and of attempting to break into a vehicle at that location during that same time frame. Lt. Blackmon also accuses her of taking away items valued at over $2,000 from that location during that time frame and again on August 14th. Officer Willard also alleges that Ms. Hayslip hindered an officer by failing to notify law enforcement of the whereabouts of a man on August 11th, knowing he was wanted with a warrant for his arrest. Dena Lee Hayslip remained in the Johnson Detention Center this morning with cash or surety bonds totaling $40,000 on the six charges.
