A Newberry County woman yesterday was charged with multiple forgeries involving funds allegedly taken from a Clinton Business. Clinton Public Safety charged 22-year-old Amber Leigh Ware of 9063 Broad River Road, Pomaria with Five Counts of Forgery. Sgt. Shane Prather cites four specific dates where the defendant allegedly marked out original names on money orders and wrote her own name in their place with the intent of depriving the victim of money. The money orders were made out to Landau Apartments. A 5th warrant states the subject appropriated funds from these money orders to her own use with the intent to deprive Landau Apartments of the money, and that the total came to $4,185. The time range of the four cases was stated as from March 1st through June 11th of this year. Amber Ware was transferred to the Johnson Detention Center and released later yesterday on surety bonds totaling $13,000.
