Deputies Restrain Suicide Victim for EMS

The Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to a Clinton area residence at 8:32 last night to clear a scene so EMS could provide assistance. A woman was screaming, crying and confrontational and began to struggle with her sister, who was trying to comfort her and keep her from leaving the scene. The woman reportedly was shouting she wanted to die. She had also reportedly taken an undetermined amount of prescription medicines and had used meth earlier in the day. After she was restrained to an EMS stretcher, handcuffs were removed. She was transported to the Laurens County Memorial Hospital.
