A home invasion early this month was alleged in an arrest by the Sheriff’s Office yesterday. 51-year-old Curtis Lewis Spurgeon of 1092 Chapman Road, Fountain Inn was charged with 1st Degree Burglary plus Assault and Battery 1st Degree. Deputy Steven Sweat states that on August 3rd one Curtis Lewis Spurgeon entered a dwelling located on a lot at 491 Chapman Road, Fountain Inn without consent and with intent to commit a crime therein, and that on entering the dwelling he caused physical injury to a person who was not a participant in the crime. He allegedly tackled the victim in his residence during commission of the burglary, causing the victim to suffer a laceration to his right forearm. Curtis Lewis Spurgeon was being held overnight in the Johnson Detention Center, pending a bond hearing today.
