Jewelry valued at over $2,000 was among the items reported stolen from a residence on Lakeview Drive outside Laurens. Sheriff’s Corporal Jimmy Johnson responded to the residence at 4:12 yesterday afternoon and spoke with the resident, who indicated someone entered through the back door since 7:45 in the morning. Missing from the husband’s closet was a Sentry safe with a 9 mm Smith and Wesson firearm and important papers including social security cards, birth certificates, marriage license and passports. A jewelry armoire with jewelry was taken from the wife’s closet. Two i-pads were taken from the night stands. The couple’s master bedroom and a child’s bedroom were ransacked. Value of the stolen property was listed at $3,750.
