A man wanted for multiple charges involving alleged use of a pistol in a domestic assault turned himself in Friday morning. Laurens City Police charged 29-year-old Antonio Marqueise Hunter of 201-D Garlington Street, Laurens with Domestic Violence of a High and Aggravated Nature, Possession of a Weapon during Commission of a Violent Crime, and Pointing and Presenting a Firearm. A 4th warrant charges “Discharging a Firearm in City Limits.” The warrants state the incident occurred on Jackson and Fleming Streets in Laurens Sunday, March 12th.
Lt. Shane Martin states that Hunter assaulted the victim by striking her with a pistol, which then discharged beside her head. He and this victim reportedly live together and have a child in common. He is accused of pointing and presenting the firearm prior to carrying out the assault with the firearm. Bond was denied on the Domestic Violence of a High and Aggravated Nature. Cash or surety bonds on the other charges were set, totaling $30,500. Antonio Marquiese Hunter remained in custody today.
