Carjacking & Assaults with Knife Displayed

A carjacking and assaults on two people Monday were alleged in warrants served on a Laurens County man yesterday. In addition to a warrant charging carjacking, the Laurens County Sheriff’s Office charged 36-year-old Brian Thomas Long of 204 Big Rock Road, Waterloo with two counts of Assault and Battery of a High and Aggravated Nature and two counts, Possession of a Weapon during a Crime. The warrants cited an investigation by Deputy Brandon Howard of the incident on Monday.

On May 15th Mr. Long allegedly attempted to take a vehicle from a victim by using force. Two warrants state that Brian Thomas Long attempted to commit an assault on a victim on May 15th, which were aggravated in that the defendant pulled a knife on a victim and threatened to kill him. Two more warrants allege that Mr. Long possessed and displayed a knife in commission of a violent crime.

Brian Thomas Long was released on personal recognizance bonds totaling $45,000.
