Traffic Ticket Leads to Drug Charges

Two drug charges have been served on a man arrested by the Sheriff’s Office in the Mountville area Wednesday night. 29-year-old Jonathan Lee Bridges of 114 Puckett Ferry Road, Cross Hill was initially charged with Driving without a License in a ticket Lt. Timothy Byrd issued at 10:42 Wednesday night on Highway 39 near Beaverdam Church Road.

Warrants were served yesterday also charging Bridges with two counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance. Citing the investigation of Lt. Byrd, they state that on July 12th Mr. Bridges possessed 11 pills identified as hydrocodone, a schedule II controlled substance and possessed 14 yellow pills, identified as Alprazolam, a schedule IV controlled substance.

With cash or surety bonds set totaling $20,232 on all charges, Jonathan Lee Bridges remained in the Laurens County Detention Center this morning.
