Trafficking in Meth Charged

Trafficking in Meth or Cocaine base was one of the charges served on a Gray Court man yesterday. The Laurens County Sheriff’s Office arrested 25-year-old Jeffery Ronald Taylor of 122 Spartan Drive, Gray Court and also charged him with Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Substance, Unlawful Possession of a Weapon and Possession of a Weapon during a Violent Crime.

Deputy Andrew Turner states that on July 13th Mr. Taylor did knowingly  possess 10 grams or more of crack cocaine/ice/crank, a schedule II controlled substance, without authority to do so. Taylor is also accused of knowingly and intentionally possessing Acetaminophen and Oxycodone Hydrochoride, a schedule II controlled substance, without authority to do so.

Deputy Turner states that Taylor also had a silver handgun in his possession yesterday. The 22 caliber revolver was reportedly in a book bag that Taylor had possession of. The warrant noted he did not have authority to possess the weapon. A fourth warrant states that the suspect possessed the firearm during the commission of a violent crime yesterday.

Jeffery Ronald Taylor was being held overnight in the Laurens County Detention Center, pending a bond hearing on the charges.
