1st Degree Burglary, 1st Degree Sexual Assault….Kidnapping

The Laurens County Sheriff’s Office made an arrest Friday in connection with an alleged home break-in and Sexual Assault in Laurens County the day before. 39-year-old John David Hall of 147 John Deere Lane, Easley was charged with 1st Degree Burglary, Criminal Sexual Conduct 1st Degree, Kidnapping and with Breach of Peace, Aggravated in Nature. Warrants state that on July 13th Mr. Hall entered a dwelling in the Enoree area of Laurens County without consent and with intent to commit a crime therein. He’s accused of entering while armed with a deadly weapon, a razor blade knife, and of cutting the victim on her arm, causing severe injury. He allegedly held her against her will, preventing her from escaping, and forcibly penetrated her. He is also accused of committing an aggravated Breach of Peace by beating the front door of a home, causing a disturbance of tranquility of the neighborhood.

During arraignment, bond was denied on all four charges. John David Hall remained in the Laurens County Detention Center this morning.

Saturday, Laurens County Sheriff Don Reynolds went public with criticism that the Laurens County Hospital would not administer a Rape Kit to the victim of this crime, saying it was “totally unacceptable” to expect her to travel out-of-county for this. Details on the Sheriff’s concerns are available from our post last Saturday here at WLBG.com.
