  • Saturday: Laurens 9 – Tennessee 1… In their first game on Saturday, Laurens was the visiting team as they faced off against an all-star team from Tennessee… Tenn. In the second inning KD Mosley had a 2-run homer to right field to score the first two Laurens runs… The third run came when Ben Willis stole home… In the third inning Laurens used a couple of walks, a couple of hits, a wild pitch and a couple of Tenn. Errors to score their 4 runs…. • Saturday: Phillies 4 – Braves 3 (11)… On Saturday the Braves carried a 3-2 lead into the bottom o the 9th inning but Phillies tied the game on a solo homer by Odubel Herrera in the bottom of the 9th and the the teams had to go extra innings… Neither team scored in the 10th inning but the Phillies did score in the bottom of the 11th inning to take a 4-3 win.
  • Sunday: Phillies 2 – Braves 1… Yesterday it was pretty much the same story except it did not go to extra innings as the Phillies scored a run in the bottom of the 9th inning to take a 2-1 win over the Braves… The Phillies Freddy Galvis had a single in the 9th inning to drive in the winning run and give the Phillies their second walk-off win in as many days.

Drive… The Drive completed their 4-game series with the Charleston RiverDogs at Flour Field over the weekend and as you may recall they started that series on Thursday with Charleston taking a 5-3 win.

  • Friday: RiverDogs 6 – Drive 1… The Drive did not fare any better on Friday night as they lost to the RiverDogs 6-5… The RiverDogs scored 4 runs in the top of the 4th inning and then held the Drive to a single run in the 5th (a homer by third baseman Bobby Dalbec) in route to the win.
  • Saturday: Drive 3 – RiverDogs 2… The Drive finally broke through and took a win on Saturday night as they defeated the RiverDogs 3-2… Greenville had a 2-1 lead going to the top of the 8th where Charleston picked up the tying run… In the bottom of the 9th, the Drives’ right fielder Ryan Scott had a solo homer to give the Drive the walk-off 3-2 win. … The Braves have now lost 4 games in a row and need to win the noon game today with the Phillies to avoid being swept.
  • Sunday: Drive 2 – RiverDogs 0… Yesterday the two teams again faced off in a low scoring affair in which there were only 7 hits and 2 runs between the two teams but good news for Drive fans as the Drive had only 3 of the 7 hits but they had both the runs as they took a 2-0 win over the RiverDogs… The Drive got both their runs in the 6th inning on a two-run homer by their center fielder Lorenzo Cedrola…. With the wwin they finish the series with the RiverDogs going 1-3 and will host the Ashville Tourist in 3-game series starting tonight.
