Irma Recovery Progress

After working all through the night Monday night, until 5:00 Tuesday morning, Laurens CPW electric crews had restored all main electrical circuits through town. Later yesterday, with assistance from Clinton Utilities, isolated electrical outages were being restored in Laurens.

New traffic signals were installed yesterday in Laurens at the intersection of Hillcrest Drive and Church Street. A traffic light pole and lights came crashing down, along with power lines, at that intersection during the storm Monday night.

Duke Energy made a lot of progress restoring power in Laurens County overnight. Late yesterday afternoon 2,258 Duke Customers were still without power across Laurens County. Hickory Tavern had the most customers waiting on the power to return, with 1,636 outages as of late yesterday afternoon. As of 5:30 this morning, most Hickory Tavern customers had power restored. Outages there were down to just a handful. Just north of Hickory Tavern, Rabon Road still had 29 customers waiting on power. Further west, Princeton still had 278 Duke Customers waiting on power at 5:30 this morning. Across Laurens County, the Duke outages had been reduced to 493.
