The body of an infant was found by a Laurens County Deputy this afternoon in Fountain Inn. Chief Deputy Sheriff Jarvis Reeder said the officer was serving a “set-out” notice of eviction, where items from the apartment were to be removed, when the infant’s body was found. Reeder said this occurred at Fountain Hill Apartments on Chapman Road in Fountain Inn just before 1:00 this (Monday) afternoon.
The Laurens County Coroner’s Office and Fountain Inn Police responded to the apartment.
Laurens County Chief Deputy Coroner Vickie Cheek told WLBG this afternoon that a lot of questions remained unanswered, but the infant’s remains were taken to Greenville, where an autopsy will be conducted Tuesday morning.
