  • Girls Finish Second… The Lady Crusader cross country team did very well as they finished second in the meet just 3 points behind Holy Trinity Classical which finished first… The Crusaders were led by Blair Quarles who finished second overall and Ruthie Moore who finished 6th… To see the entire girls’ meet results, click here.
  • Boys Finish Eleventh… The Crusader boys’ team was also in action but they did not do quite as well as they finished 11th… Dawson Foster led the Crusaders finishing 16th overall… To see the complete result for the boys portion of the meet, click here…. Congratulations to the Crusaders for the great showing.

College Notes:

  • College Football Rankings… Well yesterday if you remember I brought you the FBS AP Poll rankings which had Alabama #1 and Georgia #2… Well yesterday the committee that is in charge of setting the 4 teams that make it into the playoff at the end of the year released their first College Football Rankings and they see things just a little differently… They have Georgia at #1 and Alabama at #2… Spots 3 and 4 are held down by Notre Dame and Clemson… Spots 5 & 6 are occupied by Oklahoma and Ohio State… It’s still a long way to the end of the season when the final rankings come out but it is interesting to see some of the reasoning that they are using to justify the rankings… One thing for sure, it is highly likely that Georgia and Alabama will meet in the SEC Championship to iron out that difference… If you want to see the entire top 25 as the committee sees and the posting and comments on the NCAA website where this is located, click here.

Pros:

  • World Series Game 6: LA 3 – Astros 1… The World Series moved back to Los Angeles last night and the Dodgers who were down a game to the Astros took a 3-1 win to force a winner take all game 7 tonight… The Astros took a 1-0 lead in the third inning but the Dodgers came back to take the lead with a pair of runs in the sixth inning and added an insurance run in the 7th in route to the win… To see details a wrap of the agme and the box score, click here… Game 7 is on Fox tonight and coverage starts at 8:00 pm.
