Three Charged with Break-In & Assaults

Three males, aged 18 thru 22, were arrested Friday regarding a break-in and two assaults outside Clinton three days earlier last week. The Laurens County Sheriff’s Office arrested 22-year-old Donald Eugene Marshall of 105 Harold Park Drive, Clinton as well as 19-year-old Preston Lee Armstrong and 18-year-old Brandon Creed Cowart, both of 3154 Bramlett Church Road, Gray Court and charged all three with Burglary 2nd Degree and two counts of Assault and Battery 3rd Degree.

Deputy Benjamin Perry states that on November 28th Marshall, Armstrong and Cowart entered a building in the 900 address range of A.B. Jacks Road in the nighttime without consent and with intent to commit a crime therein. They allegedly pushed through the door when a victim cracked the door open to see who was there. They’re accused of committing battery on that victim by pushing and striking her on the shoulders, face and back. Each is  accused of assaulting another victim that day by attempting to strike him, while threatening bodily harm.

Donald Eugene Marshall, Preston Lee Armstrong and Brandon Creed Cowart were each released Saturday on cash or surety bonds totaling $8,174.
