College Notes… A couple of college basketball scores

  • M: Clemson 74 – Boston College 70… The #25 Clemson men’s basketball team ran their record to 13-1 overall and 2-0 in ACC play as they defeated Boston College 74-70 up at BC last night… The Tigers were propelled by Donte Grantham’s career night of 23 points and 14 rebounds…  The Tigers used clutch free throw shooting down the stretch to hold off the Eagles… For more information on this contest, click here. The Tigers return to the court this Saturday when they host Louisville in a noon contest.
  • M: Missouri 76 – South Carolina 68… The Missouri Tigers men’s basketball team did something it had not done in almost 4 years… pick up a road win in the SEC… Unfortunately for Gamecock fan it was down in Columbia as the Tigers took a 79-68 win over the Gamecocks… To be honest, the Gamecocks did not shoot very well (38.6 % from the floor and 27.8% from behind the arc to the Tigers 46.9% from the floor and 58.3% from behind the arc) and their defense was not what you expect from a Frank Martin team as they gave up too many easy baskets… For more information on the game, click here…  The gamecocks fall to 9-5 overall and 0-2 in SEC paly and will host Vanderbilt at 6:45 this Saturday in a game that can be seen on the SEC Network.

  • NFL Playoffs… Now for you NFL junkies what I am about to mention is not news but for the casual NFL fan it very well may be news… The NFL starts its post-season play with the Wild card games this weekend… On Saturday it will be the Kansas City Chiefs hosting the Tennessee Titans while the rams will be hosting the Falcons…. Then on Sunday The Jaguars will be hosting the Bills and the saints will be hosting the Panthers… or more information on game times, TV network carrying the games and the entire NFL post-season schedule, click here.
