Rare Power Outage in Clinton

The City of Clinton yesterday experienced a rare, very unusual power outage. It required installing a new transformer in the City’s substation.  Power had to be disconnected to customers on Gary Substation Circuit 2 and City Substation Circuits 1 and 2. The power had to stay off for at least 2 to 3 hours for some, and into the night for others. A warming station was set up at 404 North Broad for people who didn’t have heat. Customers with medical problems needing electric service were advised to relocate or call 911.  We understand power was eventually restored during the night.
