“Severe Terror” From Downtown Gunfire

Gunfire in Downtown Laurens off East Laurens Street earlier this month was alleged with an arrest by Laurens City Police yesterday. 20-year-old Braylon Demarkques McBeth of 119 Spring Street, Laurens was charged with Breach of Peace, Aggravated in Nature. He’s accused of being involved in the discharge of firearms between January 6th and 7th as a large group of people, including numerous juveniles, were leaving a birthday party. This allegedly caused severe terror and panic among the individuals leaving the party, as a co-defendant was observed carrying a rifle-style firearm before entering a vehicle with McBeth and fleeing with additional rounds being fired. The incident reportedly occurred in the parking lot at 125 East Laurens Street. Braylon McBeth was being held overnight, pending a bond hearing today.
