Clinton Planning Commission Appointments

Clinton City Council made two appointments to the Clinton Planning Commission at their March meeting. The Planning Commission is tasked with planning for the physical, social and economic growth within Clinton.  By ordinance, it is to have 7 members who serve three-year terms. The members can serve for a maximum of two consecutive terms. With two seats on the commission open, city staff recommended that Mr. Frank Boland of South Woodrow Street and Mr. Willie Prickett of Calvert Avenue be appointed to the commission. By unanimous vote of City Council last week, both were appointed to three-year terms.

Council Member Shirley Jenkins asked if it were not city policy for the Planning Commission to have one member appointed from each council district. She was advised that there is no such requirement.
