Museum Gala is 7 Days Away

There’s just one week to go before the Laurens County Museum Association presents it’s Annual Spring Gala. This event is held again in the Witherspoon Building on the Historic Laurens Square. Funds raised from ticket sales go toward the ongoing work on that building to become a greatly expanded replacement for the current museum on West Laurens Street.

The 2018 Spring Gala begins at 6:30 Friday evening, April 20th and this year’s event features a talk from a preservationist, Ernest Shealy from Newberry. He has a master’s Degree in Architectural History and a Certificate in Historic Preservation. The gala includes a sit-down buffet catered by Rey Stoddard and entertainment by a well-known Beach Music DJ.  Beer and wine will be available. This is a fun event hosted by the Laurens County Museum Membership Committee.

Admission for Museum members is $25.00 for a single ticket and $40.00 for two. Tickets for non-museum members are $35.00 for a single and $50.00 for two.   Tickets may be purchased online at:

…or a check can be mailed to LCMA, PO Box 932, Laurens, SC  29360.

Names go on the admission list at the door once payment is received. More information is available from Debbie Vaughn at 864-683-3688 or from Fay Edge at 864-923-0083. You may also email Debbie at:

The Museum Association has big plans for their continued development of the new museum site, and – in addition to enjoying next week’s Gala – those attending will get to see some of the progress that has been made over the past year.
