3rd Arrest Alleging Marijuana PWID on April 2nd

The Laurens County Sheriff’s Office yesterday arrested another Penland Road resident on a marijuana possession charge from early this month. 56-year-old Kevin Layne McGlohon of 308 Penland Road, Laurens was charged with Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute and Receiving Stolen Goods.

Warrants citing the investigation of Captain Robert Wilkie state that on April 2nd Kevin McGlohon possessed marijuana with intent to distribute this Schedule II Controlled Substance, and that he received a .22 caliber Winchester rifle, valued at less than $2,000, knowing or having reason to know at the time that the property was stolen, also April 2nd.

Kevin Layne Mcglohon was held overnight, awaiting a bond hearing on the two new charges.


Two other arrests were made earlier this month alleging possession of marijuana April 2nd. On April 3rd, the Sheriff’s Office charged 31-year-old Brandon Reshod “Shod” Powers of 104 Jackson Street, Laurens with Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute. On April 4th, 43-year-old Samuel David McGlohon of 650 Penland Road, Laurens was accused of attempting to conspire to manufacture, dispense, deliver or purchase marijuana he was in possession of, that being a pound-and-a-half of marijuana, along with a digital scale and multiple packaging materials.

Sheriff Don Reynolds later stated that on April 2nd the Sheriff’s Narcotics Unit executed a search warrant at 650 Penland Road, Laurens, as a result of a month-long undercover operation into the sale of marijuana coming into our County from Colorado. During the investigation, Narcotic Investigators reportedly seized over two pounds of marijuana, approximately 40 grams of THC wax, vape pens containing THC oil, more than $4,000.00 cash, a handgun, a stolen rifle, and a stolen car. That week, the Sheriff indicated more arrest were coming.
