Go Big Red !
  • Birchmore Signs with Saints… Yesterday morning at CHS senior softball player Caroline Birchmore signed a letter of intent to continue her education and softball career at Limestone College in Gaffney for the Saints… The signing took place in the auditorium at CHS and she was surrounded by her parents, coaches, teammates and friends… The Red Devil catcher is batting .262 on the season and has an on-base percentage of .352 as the Red Devils head into the playoffs… Congratulations to Caroline!

Pros… Click on the scores of the following for more information about the contest.

  • Braves 5 – Reds 2… Last night after dropping the first two games of the four-game series to the Reds in Cincinnati, the Braves finally put one in the win column as they took a 5-4 win over the Reds… It was a comeback win for the Braves as they tied the game with a single run in the top of the 8th inning and then scored the winning run in the top of the 9th when Johan Carmago hit his second double of the game to drive in Ozzie Albies with what would prove to be the winning run… The two teams complete their 4-game series with a 12:35 game this afternoon.
  • Augusta 9 – Drive 2 and Augusta 3 – Drive 0…. As you may recall the Greenville Drive won the SAL title last year as part of their best ever season… well it looks like the Drive this year might be described as “from first to worst” as they last both games of a doubleheader at Flour Field yesterday the first by a score of 9-2 and the second by a score of 3-0… That makes 12 consecutive loses for the Drive and their season record to date is only 3-17.
