PC Notes

Baseball… The Blue Hose baseball team had its final home games of the season as they hosted the Longwood Lancers this past weekend.

  • Friday: PC 5 – Longwood 3… In the first game on Friday, the Blue Hose took a 5-3 win over Longwood with Andrew Blat hitting a 2-run double in the 6th inning to drive in what would prove to be the winning run as PC held the Lancers scoreless over the last 3 innings.
  • Saturday: PC 4 – Longwood 3 (11)… On Saturday it took them 11 innings to do it but the Blue Hose once again defeated the Lancers but this time it was by a score of 4-3… In the bottom of the 11th inning, senior Colton Chapman hit the first pitch he saw over the fence to give PC the walk-off win.
  • Sunday: Longwood 9 – PC 3… On Sunday the Blue Hose were going for the sweep of the Lancers but the Lancers would have none of that as they took a 9-3 win thus spoiling Senior Day for the Blue Hose 12 seniors… The Lancers scored 6 runs in the 6th inning to put PC into a hole that they just could not climb out of.
  • NOTE… The team was originally scheduled to travel to Athens, Ga. today to take on the Georgia Bulldogs but the game has been cancelled due to the threat of bad weather this afternoon and will not be made-up… PC concludes its regular season this weekend as they travel to High Point this weekend with the first game on Friday at 6:00 pm… All 3 games this weekend can be seen on the Big South Network.
