2 of 11 Weekend Traffic Deaths

With the deaths of two Clinton woman this weekend in a 2-car head-on crash on US 76 east of Clinton, Laurens County now with 10 traffic fatalities for this year, compared to 17 last year as of May 20th. Our two deaths were part of 11 across South Carolina over the weekend, according to South Carolina Public Safety. As of midnight on the 20th, 367 people have died in roadways across the state, down from 400 on the same date last year. Of these 367, 264 were motor vehicle occupants, 55 were pedestrians, 35 were on motorcycles and six bicyclists were killed on state highways so far this year.
