1 of 4 Charged in Night-Time Burglary & Assault

One of four people allegedly involved in a night-time burglary outside Clinton back in February was booked yesterday by the Laurens County Sheriff’s Office. 33-year-old Cecile Nichole Hawkins of 169 Effie Drive, Piedmont was charged with 1st Degree Burglary, Assault and Battery of a High and Aggravated Nature and Possession of a Weapon during a Violent Crime.

Warrants cite an investigation by Deputy Teseniar indicates that on February 9th Ms. Hawkins broke into a woman’s residence on Madden Road, Clinton with intent to commit a crime therein, and that this occurred at night while the defendant was armed with a deadly weapon. Another woman and two men were listed as co-defendants in this crime. The same co-defendants were listed in the Assault charge, in which Ms. Hawkins is accused of committing a battery on a man the same date, this being aggravated in that it involved weapons a knife, after a burglary occurred.

Ms. Hawkins and one of the two male co-defendants are also accused of being in possession of the knife during these violent crimes.

Cash or surety bonds were set on the three charges totaling $25,000. Cecile Nichole Hawkins remained in custody this morning.
